Obituary of Anthony Brown

It is with great sadness that the family of Eldon “Brownie” Anthony Brown announce his passing which occurred on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Bobby’s Hospice, Saint John, NB. Born in Sussex, NB on September 28, 1954, he was the son of the late Eldon and Mary (Boyle) Brown.

Anthony was a big fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, if he wasn’t playing guitar or teaching one of the kids how to play crib, he’d be tag teaming with the grandkids to tease gram gram. In his younger years he spent many nights playing darts; he also loved to be in the woods hunting or fishing.

Anthony is survived by his loving wife Marlene Brown (Garland) of Norton, NB; children: Beth Brown (Tracy) British Columbia, Brenda Brown (Donald) of Cape Tormentine, NB and Belinda Kincade (Kevin) of Bloomfield, NB; grandchildren: Brett, Curtis, Haylee, Christopher, Kris, Connor, Trynity, Katana, Kole, Trysten, Tryanna, Faythe, Fallyn and Fyrever; great grandchildren: Ashton, Ana, Jensen, Wyatt, Anthony and Carl; sisters: Marcene Porelle (Paul) of Moncton, NB and Cheryl Brown-Ellis (Harvey) of Moncton, NB; brothers: Adrian Brown (Lorraine) of Ottawa, ON and Keith Brown (Rose) of Springfield, NB; sister-in-law Grace Brown of Ottawa, ON; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Anthony was predeceased by his brother Allison Brown; brother-in-law Dennis Garland; father-in-law Neil Garland; mother-in-law Madeleine Garland; nephew Timmy Porelle; and great grandson baby Lucas.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 12-2PM with a celebration of life following at 2PM all from Sherwood’s Funeral Home.

Brownie always said he didn’t want people coming to his celebration of life dressed up like they we’re attending a funeral, so please come in your work clothes or whatever you prefer.
