What can be said? The part that Muriel had in my life goes back 44 years as my 1st grade teacher. I have nothing but pleasant memories of the teacher and the person she was as a young woman finding her way in the world of education. She always seemed to have a radiant smile on her face, though I'm sure we weren't the easiest class to teach. While waiting for the bus one afternoon she taught me a skill that has lasted a lifetime. She instructed me in the art of shoe tying. I've thought of her many times over the years as I've done that simple task. Muriel was a beautiful soul. I grew very close to her, especially in the last few years while living in Halifax and this will be a very difficult loss. Muriel was so loving and always laughing, joking around and so full of life. I will miss all the games - especially scrabble and dominoes, as well as picking vegetables from her garden and eating all of her delicious relishes. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone at this time. She had a difficult last 2 years, but she always held her faith and her strength - I am happy to know she is now pain free.
