Obituary of Al Bastarache

It is with great sadness that the family of Alfred Victor Bastarache announce his passing which occurred on Monday, May 6, 2024, at the Moncton City Hospital, Moncton, NB. Born in Moncton, NB on January 10, 1947, he was the son of the late Gladys Bastarache.

Al is survived by his daughter Cindy McEachern of Moncton, NB; grandson Ethan Lumsden of Moncton, NB; brother John Carlin (Catherine) of Canaan Station, NB; sisters Ruth Carlin (Gille) of Ottawa, ON, Esther Arsenault (Mike) of Moncton, NB and Audrey Mattatall (Lee) of Moncton, NB; brother-in-law Terry Boutilier of Moncton, NB; as well as several nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, Al was predeceased by his loving wife Sonja (Landry) Bastarache (just 4 months ago); brother Robert Carlin; sisters Laura Boutilier and Violia Capps.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Center (506-839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, where visitation will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 12 to 2PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00PM. Interment will take place at Bayview Cemetery for Sonny and Al, together again.
