Obituary of Larry Gidney

It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Larry Gidney, age 72, of Norton, NB, which occurred March 4, 2024 at his home. Larry was born on September 6, 1951, and resided at Topaz Special Care Home for the last 21 years.

Larry attended Crosswinds Sussex for the last 40 years. He was involved with the Sussex Activity Centre and attended the Norton United Baptist Church. Larry was like a brother to his fellow residents at Topaz. Larry could always bring a smile to anyone who met him. If you were driving through Norton in the summer, you could be sure to see him sitting out front listening to his Walkman, most likely Johnny Cash, waving to anyone who would wave back. He will be fondly remembered by Tammy and Amy for his singing of Connie Smith’s “Once a Day”. He will be dearly remembered by his Topaz family, his church family, and his Crosswinds family.

Larry was predeceased by his loving girlfriend of over 40 years, Eunice. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Center (506-839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB where visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 12:00 to 2:00pm with the funeral service starting at 2:00pm
