Obituary of Marlene Helen Ida Boyd

It is with great sadness that the family of Marlene Helen Ida Boyd announce her passing which occurred peacefully with her family by her side on January 18, 2024 at the Kiwanis Nursing Home, Sussex, NB. Born in Sussex, NB on July 6, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Leslie and Edna (Parlee) Branscombe.

Marlene is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Ralph Boyd of Norton, NB; children: Darrell Boyd (Denise) of Norton, NB, Roxie MacLean (Junior) of Norton, NB, Beth Brewer (Rev. Terry) of St. Stephen, NB, Janice Dudley (Darcy) of Fredericton, NB and Jim Boyd (Jennifer) of Norton, NB; grandchildren: Jason Boyd (Duska) of Alberton, PEI, Jeff Boyd (Brandy) of Midland, NB, Justin Boyd (Brittany) of Hampton, NB, Jeremy MacLean (Kathryn-Ann Stackhouse) of Riverbank, NB, Karla Farrell of Norton, NB, Anson Brewer (Lisa) of Perth Andover, NB, Adena Pike (Brandon) of Fredericton, NB, Braden Brewer (Janelle) of St Stephen, NB, Brienna Brewer of St. Stephen, NB, Marissa Dudley of Fredericton, NB, Marcus Dudley of Fredericton, NB, Lana Boyd of Norton, NB and Anthony Boyd of Norton, NB; great-grandchildren: Chloe, Brooklyn, Jackson, Hudson, Asher, Navie and Chantry; step great grandchildren: James, Shawn and Jacob; sisters: Rose Croxall of Ottawa, ON, Elaine Haase (Wayne) of Saint Albert, AB and Dr. Nyla Branscombe of Kansas, USA; brother Howard Branscombe of Brampton, ON;  as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to her parents, Marlene was predeceased by her sister Leona; brother Gerald and brother-in-law Don Croxall.

A sincere thank you to all the staff at Kiwanis Nursing Home for their wonderful care given to our mother over the past four years, your kindness and compassion will not be forgotten. As a family, we would like to say a big thank you as well to our designated family contact for the nursing home during restricted times. Thank you Roxie for all the time and thoughtfulness given to our parents, especially the times you were there when we were unable to be. You kept the rest of the family up to date, included and connected and that commitment did not go unnoticed. We would also like to thank everyone that has shown our family love and support over the past few days, as well as the years leading up to this moment.  

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 3 to 6PM from Outreach Pentecostal Church, 2129 Route 124, Hatfield Point, NB. The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 11:00AM also from Outreach Pentecostal Church. A private family interment will take place in the spring at Bayview Cemetery.
