Obituary of Irene Gray
It is with broken hearts the family of Irene Mary Hazel Gray announce her passing, which occurred on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Loch Lomond Villa, Saint John, NB. Born in Sussex, NB, on January 12, 1951, she was a daughter of Mary (Muir) Gray and the late William “Bill” Gray.
Irene is survived by her brothers: Joe (Janet) Gray of Midland, and Bob (Joyce) Gray of Midland; sister Donna Gray of Saint John; nieces: Lori (John) Kerstens, and Emily Gray; nephews: Michael (Tara) Gray, and Philip (Solonge) Gray; great nieces and nephews: Calen Gray, Landon Kerstens and Mya Kerstens. In addition to her father, Irene was predeceased by her sister-in-law Muriel Gray and great nephew Cole Gray.
Irene graduated from Belleisle Regional High School and Modern Business College to become a legal secretary and end her career in the Public Trustee office in Halifax.
Irene was diagnosed with MS in her late 30’s. Her determination and pride kept her independent for many years. She had the attitude “I might have MS but MS does not have me”.
The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care given to Irene while she lived in Birch House at Loch Lomond Villa.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Center (506-839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, from where visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 4 to 7PM. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 11:00AM from Midland Baptist Church, followed by a private family interment at Midland Cemetery.
