So sorry to hear of your loss but what a way to go. Fall asleep and wake up with Jesus. I know that while you grieve the loss of her presence yet you rejoice in the knowledge that she is at “home “ in the truest a way. May God bless you all. Jo Hay.

I am sending my sympathy and that of my family to Merle's family on this sad day. My father and Merle's father were half brothers.
Merle was named after her father's sister. We spent many happy times with the Otis family in our growing years at the farm in Norton. The picture I have posted is of a family reunion we had at the Moosehorn Brook in 1956. Merle was the youngest at 21 years. Her mother Ella (Helen), aunt Rose (Pearson) Frawley, aunt Florence (Pearson) Gale, (my mother, Evelyn (Reinhart) Pearson, Merle's aunt Merle (Stackhouse) Greenfield, Eileen Gale, (aunt Florence's daughter-in-law) and Merle, the youngest at the end.
They are all gone from our lives now, and Merle has joined her family. Who would have known the Legacy that Merle would create in the years to come. She lived a life of faith and spreading joy wherever she lived and worked. Merle's leaving the family group has created a huge void in the lives of her descendants.
Merle Louisa (Otis) (Stevens) Gorveatte will be missed by so many.

Such a JOY to get to meet dear Merle barely 6 years ago when she & Ken married at Norton Wesleyan. Such a beautiful Christian Spirit - ALWAYS smiling! She & Jackie were here in Riverview NB just 2 weeks prior to her homegoing for a visit with us (my sister Shirley Gorveatte and I)- one always got blessed when in her presence. Many Blessings to her precious family as they mourn her homegoing. A life WELL LIVED!

Dear family members,
We are sorry to hear of Merle’s sudden passing. We’ve known her for over 50 years, as one of the finest Christian ladies we’ve ever met. We have had several meaningful connections with Merle over the years. She and Jack took me, Pete, under their wing one summer when I was a student at Bethany in Yarmouth. I especially remember the tomato sandwiches she made for me more than once during that time. Also, our first pastorate was in Merle’s hometown of Norton, where we made lasting friendships with the Otis family. May God comfort each one, as you make the adjustments of the future.
