It is with profound sadness that the family of Mabel Dorothy Irene Greenslade announce her passing which occurred peacefully on November 4, 2023, at her home in Belyea’s Cove, NB. Born in Belyea’s Cove, NB, on April 17, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Murray and Miriam (McCrow) Mott.
Mabel was a devout Christian and was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith in God, but she also was tough as nails and strong in spirit. She took great pleasure in watching the birds and other wildlife out her window when she wasn’t spending time with friends and family. Mabel read her bible every day, loved talking to friends and family, and never missed sending a birthday card. Her home was filled with joy, love, warmth (literally), and a never-ending supply of food. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Mabel is survived by her children: Clayton Greenslade (Debra) of Apohaqui, Elmer Greenslade of Belyea’s Cove, NB, Jocelyn Carpenter (Jack) of Wickham Parish, NB, Wayne Greenslade (Mary) of Kars, NB, Donnie Greenslade (Laurie) of Saint John, NB, Lynn Veysey (Paul) of Penobsquis, NB, Wanda Robertson (Ronnie) of Kars, NB and Susan Boyd (Brian) of Midland, NB; grandchildren: Steven Greenslade (Angela), Heather Greenslade, Robbie Greenslade, Cindy Bates (Chris), Timothy Bostwick, Barry Bostwick, Brian Bostwick, Brenda Carpenter, Keith Greenslade (Nicole), Kristy Ditcham (Dwayne), Michael Greenslade (Esther), Amanda Cole (Robert), Melody Robertson, Mark Robertson (Joleen), Kara Pope (Jensen) and Julia Cook (Keaton); sister Jean Payne; sister-in-law Vera Drake; brother-in-law Herman Hovey (Ann); as well as many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Mabel was predeceased by her husband Percy Greenslade; son Calvin Greenslade; grandson David Greenslade; daughters-in-law: Sheila Greenslade and Joye Greenslade; brothers: Charlie Bramble, Kenneth Mott, David Bramble and Harold Mott; and sisters: Lucy Todd, May Scott and Rose Wilson.
