Obituary of George Thomas Morrell

George (Tom) Morrel, 86, passed away at home in Palm Bay, FL.  Tom was born in Springfield, New Brunswick to parents, George and Julia (Brown) Morrell of Sussex.  He graduated from Sussex High School in 1954. 

After moving to the United States in 1960, he joined the U.S. Air Force.  Tom was stationed at a radar site in Saratoga, NY for three years.  During that time, he married Marion Rider, daughter of the late John and Helen Rider of Plainfield, VT.  Upon discharge from the Air Force, Tom worked for Southern New England Telephone, retiring after 25 years. 

Tom and Marion lived in Middletown, CT, moving to East Hampton, CT where they raised their family.  When their children were grown, they built a home in Palm Bay, FL where they spent 28 wonderful years, making memories with their grandchildren.

Tom leaves behind his wife Marion of 60 years; his son Chris Morrell and wife Jennie of Lebanon, CT; his daughter Alice Morrell of South Windsor, CT; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Theresa (Morrell) Plotkin in 2020; his parents, George and Julia; sisters, Blanche Anderson and Georgie McKenzie; brothers, Walter and Ronald Morrell; and several nieces and nephews.

Tom and Marion were fortunate to travel to many places, but their favorite trips were to New Brunswick to visit family.
