Obituary of Lana Mae Belyea
It is with sad hearts the family of Lana Mae (Cyrette) Belyea announce her passing which occurred with loving family at her side on March 17, 2023 at the Kiwanis Nursing home, Sussex, NB. Lana was born June 14, 1948 in Thunder Bay Ontario, and was the daughter of the late George Cyrette and Marjorie (Randle) O'Connor.
As a young girl she spent a few years in Cloud Bay. While in Cloud Bay she would meet country star Myrna Lorri, where she would spend many evenings at her house listening to her sing and play guitar. When she was a young teen Lana moved to Toronto where she would eventually meet the love of her life, Herman. From Toronto they moved to Cambridge Narrows NB in 1966 where they settled and raised their family.
After she raised her kids she went to work at Frobisher Industries in Waterborough for 9 years. She later took on the task of book keeping with Belyea Brother’s Trucking Company. In her free time Lana enjoyed reading, planting flowers, going on long walks, feeding the birds and enjoyed country music.
Lana will be dearly missed by her children: Gray Belyea of Courtenay BC, Kimberley (Dennis) McNair of Pearsonville, NB, Maureen (Dewayne) Black of Harewood, NB, Lemont Belyea of Cambridge Narrows, NB, Dean (Barb) of Elk Point, AB, Wayne (Tammy) of Whites Cove, NB and Lloyd (Meagan) of Bagdad, NB; siblings: Sharron Breen of Thornton, ON, George Cyrette of Surrey, BC, Shelley (Jim) McLagan of Hastings, ON, and Merryanne Clause of Whitby, ON; fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lana was predeceased by her husband Herman Belyea; siblings: Randy Cyrette and Jim O’Connor; and grandson Damian Morley.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Enhanced Living Gagetown as well as the staff of Kiwanis Nursing Home for all their great care and compassion.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, where visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 4 to 7PM. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 11:00AM from Sherwood’s Funeral Home Chapel. A private interment will take place in the spring at Narrows Baptist Cemetery, Cambridge Narrows, NB.
