Obituary of Irene Merna Muir
It is with great sadness that the family of Irene Muir is announcing her comfortable passing on November 16th, at the Sussex Health Centre. Born in Windsor, NS, on June 6, 1942, Irene was a daughter of the late Winthrop and Gladys (Harvey) Ingram.
While having only two children of her own, Irene was also a loving foster parent to many, always saying yes when asked. In total, fostering 45 children over the years. A woman of family, community and faith, Irene consistently gave of herself to her family and as a dedicated social worker to those in need within her community. She promoted strong spiritual values in her children and set an excellent example in being kind, helpful, and honest. She loved her pets and spent countless hours crocheting and knitting. Irene also loved baking and cooking and especially sharing these efforts with whomever came to visit.
Irene is survived by her loving husband, John Muir of Midland, NB; children: Dwayne Muir of Moncton, NB, and Dale Muir of Midland, NB; grandchildren: Eric (Victoria) and Cory (Keagan); great-grandchildren: Adelynn and Liam; and brother, Austin Ingram (Diane McPherson) of Edmonton, AB. In addition to her parents, Irene was predeceased by her brothers: Kenneth and Alvin Ingram; as well as sister, Celia White.
We find comfort and hope from God and his promise that there will be a resurrection. We long to see her again!
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB. In honoring Irene’s wishes, there will be no service.
