I’m so sorry for your loss. The obituary was a lovely memorial. I really liked and admired Junior. He seemed, to me, to be kind and thoughtful. He was a wonderful boss (Strawberry UPick). I was very saddened to learn of the passing of Roy Pope Jr. About four months ago I was hospitalized. When I was well enough I discovered that I was sharing the room with Roy Pope Jr. We enjoyed some short conversations before I was discharged. When I served in the Anglican Parish I also had many very enjoyable visits with Roy Pope Sr. And so to him I send very personal thoughts of prayer and sympathy. To all members of the Pope Family I send deep and sincere sympathy in the loss of a beloved Family member. May you know the peace and comfort that goes beyond all understanding.

Growing up in Belleisle where everyone knew everyone as Belleisle elementary, junior and senior high in Springfield brought a large swath of people together. Jr Pope shared that entrepreneurial drive with his brother's, Father and mother. As I've grown older I have silently drawn inspiration from families like the Pope's. Jr and his entire family have inspired many. I would like to extend condolences to Gwen and children, Peter and family, Fred and family, Roy Sr and to all who came to know and love him. His obituary certainly reflected the type of man he was. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. We hope the cherished memories you have will help heal the sorrow you feel in your heart.

One of the first memories I have of Jr. is when I showed up for my first day of work in the strawberry fields and Jr. looked at me and said, "Well, if it isn't Gregoreth of Nazareth in the lead line pass!". I don't know what it meant but it made me smile and it took away all my anxiety about starting a new job. And more than 25 years later I can still hear it in my head :-). Jr. treated me like one of his own.
I hope you all feel his presence every day. I hope you talk to him and believe he can hear you. I hope you continue to speak his name out loud. And I hope that you are surrounded by loving and compassionate people as you grieve. Some day your memories of him will bring more pleasure than pain; and I hope that day comes soon.
Take care...you are a beautiful family and I know that Jr. will be proud to watch your lives unfold.

So sorry to hear of Jr’s death.Working with the Pope Family for thirteen years there were a lot of good times along with our work days.Your idea of a blood donation was such a great idea for a donation .I called to see what the age restrictions were as I haven’t given in awhile and I’m sure Jr.would say I was to old but they said I wasn’t.So I will do that in remembrance of him.

I was very sad to hear the news. Jr Pope gave me my first job as a small kid. I have so many great memories of Jr working the strawberry fields in Belleisle and later on chatting with him as an adult and hanging at the Bay. He was an extremely friendly, hospitable, caring man who I am proud to know. My sincere condolences to all the family. My heart and prayers are with you all.

My first memories of Jr were at the rink as he coached alongside my father girls rec hockey in Sussex. Such a kind, sweet man who always had a smile and encouragement for us all. I feel privileged to have known such a wonderful person. My heart is with all of his beloved family members at this difficult time.
