Obituary of Louise Mercer

It is with sadness, the family of Margaret Louise Mercer, age 93, wife of the late Guy Mercer, announces her death, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on March 24, 2015. She was born on December 12, 1921, in Springfield, NB, the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Sandford) Pickle. Louise is survived by her son David and Marlene Mercer of Douglas, NB; daughter Mary Mercer of Rothesay, NB; grandchildren Stephen, Sarah and Michael Mercer and Duncan Morton; great grandchildren Hannah, Daphne, Tommy and Matteo; son-in-law Jim Morton; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Anne Morton; sister Marian Allaby; and brothers Roland and Frank Pickle. She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, with visitation on Friday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service, conducted by her son David Mercer, will be held from Sherwood’s Chapel at 11:00 am, on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Interment will take place in the spring in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hampton.. Donations in memory of Louise may be made to Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit or to a memorial of the donor’s choice.
