Obituary of Charlie Steeves

It is with sadness the family announces the unexpected death of Charles Dwight Steeves, age 69, the husband of Carolee (Daniels) Steeves, of Hampton, NB, which occurred at his residence, on Friday, June 27, 2014. He was born on March 8, 1945 in Moncton, NB, the son of Charles Steeves and the late Lois (Middleton) Steeves. In addition to his wife Carolee, Charlie is survived by his daughter Shannon and Jim Sherwood of Hampton; son Shane and Anissa Steeves of Quispamsis; grandchildren Jordan and Bailey Sherwood and Ava and Mason Steeves; father Charles and Norma of Riverview; sister Paula Goad of Riverview; three step-brothers; one step-sister; mother-in-law Nannie Bea Daniels of Sussex; brothers-in-law Daryl and Edie Daniels; sisters-in-law Bonny and Victor Girouard and Janet Robertson; uncle David and Sandra Ogilvie; several nieces and nephews. Charlie was a long term employee with Trimac for 47 years. He was a hard worker who was still passionate about his job. He loved antique cars and had several over the years. Charlie also enjoyed camping and traveling, especially with his family. Charlie was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, always putting family before all else. He was so proud to be the grandfather of Jordan, Bailey, Ava and Mason. He wanted to be called Grampie, but Jordan was only able to call him "Gammie", and that stuck throughout all the kids. He is resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506) 839-2156, 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Monday, June 30, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, July 1st from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held from Sherwood's Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday July 2, 2014. A private family Interment will follow in Bayview Cemetery. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Cancer Society, or the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
