Obituary of Ken Mott

The death of Kenneth Gordon Mott, age 87, of Sussex, NB, formerly of Craft's Cove, NB, occurred at the Sussex Health Centre, on Saturday, April 12, 2014. He was the husband of the late Hattie (Ferris) Mott. He was born on April 26, 1926 in Craft’s Cove, NB, the son of the late Murray and Muriam (Crowe) Mott. A man, who loved his family, one who always had time to sit, visit and talk. A self-taught man, he delivered coal by horse and wagon in St. John, delivered groceries by bicycle, yarded logs in the woods, worked in a lumber mill and split lots and lots of wood. He picked potatoes, grew and hoed many, many gardens and also worked on dairy, beef and tobacco farms. On one dairy farm he milked 16 holsteins by hand, then hauled the milk to the dairy in Centreville with a team of horses. He also worked at the St. John Dry Docks and the Red Bull Brewery. Quite the diverse work history. We all have memories of a man who loved to talk, joke and laugh, and if you didn't quite hear him – he'd holler, "What's the matter, are you deaf?" So treasure those memories, as they can never be taken away from you. Farewell Dad, Grampy and friend, until we meet again. He is survived by his daughters Linda and Redford Robicheau of Corn Hill and Violet and Eddie Kilpatrick of Cherry Hill; sons Eugene and Bev Mott of Penobsquis, and Kenneth and Nancy Mott of Wardsville, ON; grandchildren Jackie Willand, Caroline Mott, Donna Millman, Andy, Janit, Murray and Tracy Berube, Christal Scott, Tabitha Hearn, Kenneth Robicheau, Melinda Robicheau, Sherrie Robicheau, Tammy Williams, Cindy Mott, Jason Mott and Pamela Mott; great grandchildren Riley, Taylor, Alyssa, Tony, Lisa, Jody, Christopher, Curtis, Felecia, Chelsie, Joseph, Derica, Cody, Matthew, Jordan, Jessica, Katie, Kayla, Caitlin, Tyler, Nick, Alysha, Thomas, Shelby, Nicole, Brodie, Kristopher, Briana, Micaela, Cameron, Maximus, Julliette, Sophia, Gracie, Courtney, Nicholas, Jessica, Zachary, Nicole, Bianca, Hannah, Emily, Savannah, Michael, Justin, Ryan, Brady, Gibson, Madison; great-great grandchildren Joselen, Natalie, Shardelle, Justine, Conner, Aiden, Colin, Ahriana, Cameron, Kirk, Noah, Logan, Tyson, Liam, Alexander, Braxton, Myia, Jase; daughter-in-law Debbie Mott of Hatfield Point; sisters Mabel Greenslade, Jean Payne and several nieces and nephews.
