Obituary of Carol Howes

The unexpected death of Carol Ann Howes, age 57, wife of Bill Cooper, of Wickham, NB, occurred on Saturday, April 12, 2014. She was born on April 30, 1956, in Sussex, NB, the daughter of the late Shirley & Marjorie (Moss) Howes. Carol was the most considerate, compassionate, thoughtful person I had ever met. Carol collected names, addresses, birthdates, anniversary dates and special occasions of everybody she ever met and people that I knew. They were always sent a card on their birthday to celebrate that special occasion. She loved doing things for others. She loved dogs and cats, but she was mainly a dog person. Our current dog "Maddie" was purchased ten years ago because Carol wanted a new dog to spoil and spoil she did. There are ten dog figurines in the house, along with many fridge magnets of dogs, all Labrador Retrievers. Carol had a second love, the Cardinal bird family, of which we have several figurines along with many puzzles. Many pieces of her clothing are adorned with either a Lab or Red Cardinal. Other birds were nice but not that special. Carol for a while did a lot of latch hook work, but it wasn’t her true calling. She loved to bake pies, cookies, cakes, breads and big suppers. She loved her family and for a number of years hosted a Christmas Dinner for them at her house. Carol will be dearly missed by her family and will be in my heart forever and I know we will meet again in Heaven. Carol is survived by her husband Bill Cooper; sisters Frances Robinson of Cambridge-Narrows, NB, Sandra Kraglund of Saint John, NB; sister-in-law Daphne Howes of Saint John, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Wayne Howes. She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre, (506) 839-2156, 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Wednesday, April 16 from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service, conducted by Rev. Matthew Carpenter, will be held from Sherwood’s Chapel at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014. Interment will be in Cambridge-Narrows Baptist Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory of Carol, may be made to the S.P.C.A. or to the memorial of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through www.sherwoodsfuneralhome.com
