Obituary of Lee Boyd

The death of Lee Percy Boyd of Kars, NB, age 96, husband of Helen (Ganong) Boyd, occurred on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born on April 27, 1917, the son of the late Edwin and Theo (Northrup) Boyd. Lee is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Helen; daughters: Marilyn (Wendall) Friars of Rothesay, Gloria (Les) Burge of Nauwigewauk, Norma Burge of Saint John, Gail (Randy) Leavitt of Winnipeg, MB; daughter-in-law Jane Boyd; grandchildren: Danielle, Blair, Michelle, Darren, Melinda, Bradley, Kelly, David, Tanya, Alex, Daniel; great grandchildren: Brayden, Stephanie, Marissa, Maddison, Charlie, Porter, Justin, Michaela, Josh, Ben, Lauren, Ryder, Dylan, Logan, Emma, Parker, Lily; brother-in-law Arlie Ganong; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son Carl Boyd; brothers: Albert, Leslie, Otho and Everett; sisters: Myrtle Nobles, Iola Hayes, Lillian Edgar and Regina Morrell. Lee was a contractor for most of his life having built over 100 homes and 4 churches. He was a lifetime member of Outreach Pentecostal Church and rarely missed a service. He is resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB with visiting on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Outreach Pentecostal Church, Hatfield Point at 11:00 am on Monday, January 6, 2014. Interment in Bayview Cemetery in the spring. Donations in memory of Lee may be made to Extra-Mural Sussex or to the memorial of the donor's choice.
