Obituary of Bill Taylor

J. William "Bill" Taylor of Saint John, husband of Mary C. (Cummings) Taylor, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Sussex on October 9, 1936, he was the son of the late William F. and Mayme (Gallagher) Taylor. Bill was a proud graduate of St. Francis Xavier University, and continued his Engineering studies at the Nova Scotia Technical College. Bill was a Professional Civil Engineer, who owned and operated R. A. Woods Construction and Beth-Mar Construction. He was a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick, the New Brunswick and Saint John Construction Associations, the Irish Canadian Cultural Association, and the Fundy Bridge Club. Bill always enjoyed the summers spent at the family homestead in Norton, and enjoyed travelling. In addition to his wife of 37 years, Bill is survived by his daughter, Mary Beth Taylor of Saint John, as well as extended family and a wide circle of friends. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 6-9 PM. Visitation will then take place at Sherwood’s Funeral Home, 18 Scovil Road, Norton, on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 6-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM from Sacred Heart Church, Norton. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery. For those who wish remembrances to the SPCA, the Joshua Group, the Canadian Liver Foundation, or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
