Obituary of Blanche Neill

It is with great sadness that the family of C. Blanche Neill, age 90, wife of the late Lloyd Neill, of Springfield, NB, announces her passing, which occurred at the Sussex Health Centre, on Friday, November 8, 2013. She was born on August 15, 1923, in Hatfield Point, NB, the daughter of the late Abner and Harriet (Morrell) Morrell. Life and time's were not always easy at the Morrell Homestead, Nan lost her Mom when she was 8 years old and the family were strong and moved on with much love sharing their chores. Her father always made sure even when money was tight that the children received new shoes for Christmas. She met the love of her life, "John T's Son" Lloyd Neill at Short’s Store, Hatfield Point. The happy couple courted while Lloyd was on leave from the army, and started a life together in Springfield and were married for 66 years. They loved each other very much and were inseparable. Nan and Gramp in yellow house were not only parents to their boys, they were grandparents and great grandparents to all those little feet and smiles that passed through their doors daily. Whether it was to hear a story, learn a new prayer, to get a sucker or cookies or some of Nan’s famous orange juice....even the big kids. She loved her grandchildren dearly and was so proud of them all and thought the moon set on them. Hugs, Kisses & back rubs with baby powder were given with love. As every little bundle came into her life, another Christmas sock appeared under the tree. Nan loved to bake and took care of Gramps sweet tooth. She also never missed the famous Neill Saturday Night Dinner...Home made rolls, baked beans, Ham & Potato scallop could be smelled all thru the house. Nan will be dearly missed by all, especially by her family, and all the hearts she has touched in her lifetime. She is survived by sons Wayne Neill and Ivan and Marj Neill, both of Springfield, NB; grandchildren Vance and Denise Neill, Mike and Shari Neill, Naomi and Jeff Martin, Ginny and Mike Sherwood; great grandchildren Sarah Thompson and Connor Neill, Peyton and Sami Neill, Owen, Hayden and Emma Martin, Jill, Ryan, Megan, Jackson, Logan and Gabe Sherwood; sister Gertrude Morrell of Hatfield Point, NB; several nephews, nieces and cousins. Blanche was predeceased by her sisters Frances Boyd, Hilda Neill and an infant sister; brothers Gilbert, Emery, Arthur, Kenneth, Cecil, Weeden and an infant brother. She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre, (506-839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, with visiting on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8pm. Funeral service will be held from Midland Baptist Church, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Interment will take place Bayview Cemetery, Hatfield Point, NB.
