The death of M. Bernice McCrea McCready, age 91, wife of the late Gordon McCrea and Robert McCready, of Sussex Corner and formerly of Shannon, NB, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on October 30, 2013. Bernice was born in Hampton, NB, on November 1, 1921, the daughter of the late Millage and Edith (Bettle) Allaby. Bernice is survived by her sons Kenneth and Lyla (Campbell) McCrea of Hampton, Doug and Peggy (Roberts) McCrea of Kiersteadville, and Philip and Donna (Clark) McCrea of Kars; grandchildren Daryl, John, Heather, Robin, Melissa, Meaghan, Nicholas and Holly; great grandchildren, Joshua, Jarret, Jessica, Tyler, Madison, Averi, Ellis, Gracie, Claire, Lily, Jaxx, Taylor, Abby, Jaimen and Kendal; step-sons Robert and Linda, Stephen, Earl and Reta and Jeff McCready; step-daughters Phyllis and Ernest Buist and Judith and James Atkinson; sister Grace and Morris Brown; sister-in-law Ivy Allaby;and several nieces and nephews; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Murray, Roy Victor and Lloyd Allaby; sisters Evelyn Mills and Margaret Tracy; sisters-in-law Irene Warry, Kay McCrea and Ruth McCready; brothers-in-law Clarence Mills, Lawrence McCrea, Bob Tracy and Tom Warry. Bernice is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre, (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Friday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held from Sherwood’s Chapel, at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 2, 2013. Interment will take place in Shannon Cemetery.
