Obituary of Carl Bettle
The death of Carl Reid Bettle, age 82, husband of Helen (Hall) Bettle of Fox Hill, NB, occurred at the Sussex Health Centre, Sussex, NB, on Sunday, March 10, 2013. He was born in Saint John, NB, on November 21, 1930, the son of the late Adolphus and Dorothy (Reid) Bettle
Carl enjoyed his life, his family and friends. He took great pride in encouraging and seeing the accomplishments of his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had great respect for the achievements of others.
The goods and services he provided through Sussex Farm Supplies to the Dairy Community was his top priority. He was instrumental in starting the Agricultural Museum of New Brunswick seeing the need to preserve our heritage for generations to come. He was named to the New Brunswick Dairy Hall of Fame in 2003 for his dedication to the farming industry and was recently recognized by the Agricultural Museum for his dedication and support.
Carl’s walks through the woods in Passekeag were as good as a holiday, fishing, hunting, though rare, meant being outdoors and were enjoyed with family and friends
Carl is survived by his wife Helen; sons Paul and Betty, Brad and Enid, and Chris and Amanda; grandchildren Jeremy (Cleo), Kara (Scott), Shawn (Lindsay), Aaron (Amanda), Craig, Jonathan, Sara, Andrew and Emma; great grandchildren Thomas, Jena, Jacob and Reid; sister Lois Sharp of Norton and brother Harold (Shirley) Bettle of Hampton; He was predeceased by infant daughter; brothers Ralph and Gerald; sister Evelyn.
He is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm and on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013, at 11:00 am from St. Paul’s United Church, Sussex, NB. Interment will take place later in Ocean View Cemetery
