In her 98th year, Lora Annie Wood (wife of the late Rev. Lewis Wood) of the Jordan Lifecare Center (formerly of Mill Cove, NB) went peacefully to be with her Lord on February 24, 2013 with her family at her side. Born on March 31, 1915 she was the 4th of 8 children of James and Miriam (Richardson) Pulsifer. She was raised in the small community of Wittenburg, NS and would always fondly reflect on the idyllic childhood she enjoyed there. Lora married Lewis on August 29, 1941 and their 33 year ministry spanned more than 50 churches in 3 provinces. Following Lewis’ death in 1975, she spent most of her remaining years at her home in Mill Cove where she was perhaps best known for her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She was a long time member of the Waterboro Baptist Church and part of the Gloria Dei Singers. She spent most of her life serving as organist over a 78+ year period in various churches. She retired in 2008 at age 93. She is survived by her children, Lowell (Lynn) Meadow, NB, Paul (Carolyn) Quispamsis, NB, Miriam Grant (Cyril) Canterbury, NB, Juanita Fanjoy (Charles) Elgin NB, precious grandchildren, Anya, Heather, Derek, Craig, Jasper, Lisette, Carrie, Graham, Jonathan, Heidi, Christopher, Timothy and cherished great-grandchildren, Kyle, Vanessa, Connor, Victoria, Lucas, Kayla, Jordan, Jasmine, Ryan, Madeline, Natasha, Jordin, Hailey, Caitlin, Kathryn, Brayden, Kayli, Mya; sisters Mildred Burrows, Truro, NS, Miriam Larkin (Herbert), Wittenburg, NS; daughter-in-law Margaret Wood; sister-in-law Isabel Godsoe, Hampton, NB; brother-in-law Donald Wood, Moncton, NB, many nieces and nephews and very special friend Ron Copp, The Glades, NB. She was predeceased by her husband Lewis; siblings Willard, Lloyd, Morrill, Bessie, and Ralph; brothers-in-law Clifford Burrows, Layton Dodsworth, Colin Wood, Cartret Wood and William Wood; sisters-in-law Yvonne Pulsifer and Helen Watson; and nephews Lloyd Burrows and Ron Pulsifer. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Richard Morton for his ongoing care as her physician, and to the staff of the Jordan Lifecare Center for their loving and compassionate care that our mother received while a resident. Also to Bob and Jean Moss of Mill Cove, NB, for being such wonderful neighbors enabling mom to live on her own as long as she did. We are truly grateful to them for their love and concern for her. She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting Friday 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Service, conducted by Pastor Jason Cochran and Pastor Keith Boss, will be held at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, March 2, 2013, from First Cambridge Baptist Church, on Route 715, McDonalds Corner, NB. Interment will take place in the Pentecostal Cemetery, Mill Cove, NB, in the spring.
