The death of Ronald David Hutchings, age 54, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, NB, on Saturday, April 14, 2012. He was born on July 21, 1957, in Passekeag, NB, the son of Phyliss (Mitchell) Tayes and the late Donald Hutchings. Ron was known by his friends as "Hutch". He lived on the Westside of Saint John most of his life. Hutch enjoyed sports, hunting & Fishing. He also liked spending time with friends & family. He always looked forward to coming out to the East Scotch Settlement to spend a holiday. Hutch had some great friends & he will sadly be missed by all. Ronald is survived by his mother Phylliss and her husband Ronson Tayes of Norton, NB; sisters Margaret Rideout and her husband Phillip of Southfield, NB, Patsy Lockhart and her husband Hollis of Belleisle Creek, NB; brother Larry Hutchings of Saint John, NB; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. At the request of the family, no public visitation or funeral service will take place. Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, are entrusted with arrangements. Donations, in memory of Ronald, may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. We would like to thank his friends for their many visits & their support, also a special thank you to the doctors & staff of 4C North at the Saint John Regional Hospital for the care he received.
