Obituary of Terry Monahan
The death of Terry Phillip Monahan, age 50, of Montreal, formerly of Norton, NB, occurred at the St. Mary’s Hospital Center, Montreal, QC, on Sunday, April 15, 2012. He was born on November 12, 1961, in Sussex, NB, the son of the late Roy and Doris (McGinnis) Monahan.
Terry was a much loved and kindhearted son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend. Full of charm and charisma, he was never alone but always surrounded by a strong and loving group of friends wherever he was, in Norton, Sussex and Montreal.Terry will always be known for his laughter and extremely keen sense of humour that entertained and brought smiles to the faces of so very many people. He will be dearly missed, always loved and thought of often by all his friends and family.
As a family, we shared so many happy times and sad times together, but most of all, we got to share Terry’s laughter, his razor sharp wit and his intelligence. He always possessed a wisdom way beyond his years, because of his outgoing personality everyone loved Terry, we don’t think he ever met a person, who didn’t like him.
We will treasure our family gatherings, especially all the Christmas dinners followed by a spirited and competitive game of cards, also cheering our beloved Red Wings to the Stanley Cup with Mom front and center.
Although he chose to live and work in Montreal, where he met and made so many wonderful friends who were his family away from home, he was never forgotten and was always in our hearts.
Terry is survived by his sisters Louise and her husband Steven Miller of Norton, NB, Diane Monahan of Norton, NB, Karen and her husband Paul Donovan of Quispamsis, NB; brothers David and his wife Mary Monahan of Southfield, NB, Dan and his wife Lesley Monahan of Hampton, NB; aunts; several nieces, nephews, cousins and his family of friends in Montreal.
