Obituary of Joy Asbridge
The death of Joy Harvey (Fulton) Asbridge, age 82, wife of the late John Asbridge, of Midland, NB, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on March 13, 2012. She was born in Saint John, NB, on June 25, 1929, the daughter of the late Ernest and Charity (Lackie) Fulton.
Joy was always happiest with the "little ones" around and she could always find a sucker in her pocket for them. She was an avid card player and enjoyed making quilts for the grand and great grandchildren. Joy embroidered many pillow cases. Her life was her family! She was a member of the Kings County Historical and Archival Society Inc., Hampton Seniors Resource Center Inc., and the Belleisle Seniors. She enjoyed many bus trips, gatherings and dinners with her friends.
Joy is survived by her daughter Eleanor and Eric Lloyd; sons Donald and Debbie Asbridge and Robert Asbridge and Cheryl Boudreau, all of Midland; nine grandchildren Amy (Greg) Hoyt, Kimberly (Robert) Northrup, Linda Asbridge, Pam Asbridge, Patrick Asbridge, Charity (Troy) Lloyd, Katherine (Ryan) Lloyd, Cecilia Asbridge and Leighia Asbridge; twelve great grandchildren Devin and Carson Hoyt, Austin, Meghan, Hannah, Jordan and Bailey Northrup, Cassidy and Owen Wilson and Robert Asbridge, Jacob Asbridge and Lily Lloyd; sisters-in-law Ev and Betty; brothers-in-law George and Robert; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by sisters Susan, Lura and Bertie; brothers Cecil and Dalton.
She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Friday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Wally Collett, will be held from Sherwood’s Chapel at 11:00 am., Saturday, March 17, 2012,. Interment will take place later in Midland Cemetery.
