Obituary of Ramona Williams

The death of Phyllis Ramona Williams of Bayview Special Care Home, and formerly of Sussex Corner, NB, occurred at the Sussex Health Centre, on July 9, 2011, at the age of 80. She was the wife of the late Albert Williams, born on June 22, 1931, in Mannhurst, NB, the daughter of the late Ross and Violet (Chapman) Thorne. Ramona was a tough hard-working person her entire life who loved nothing better than spending her time outdoors gardening, working, raking blueberries, picking strawberries or working in the woods. Ramona enjoyed simple things in life, things like getting back to her son Lloyd’s camp, fishing, reading and watching her grandsons play basketball. Ramona loved watching sports on television, NBA, Major league baseball and hockey playoffs were some of her favorites. Ramona enjoyed the church services at Apohaqui Community Church and Pastor Kevin Vincent’s company. Ramona will be dearly missed by all her family. Ramona is survived by her daughters Juanita and Richard Carhart of Sussex Corner and Bonnie Lawson of Shannon; son Lloyd and Debra Williams of Salmon Creek; grandchildren Nevin and Brandon Carhart, Ian, Bryce and Marlene Lawson, Ryan and Erin Williams, Chris and Tanya Northrup, Jody Northrup and Holly Carhart; great grandchildren Kira, Allison and Elliot; sisters Ester, Ella, Elsie and Helen; brothers Dale and Earle; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter Wilma, son Murray, sister Dora Mae, and brother Irvine. She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visitation from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm on Monday. A Celebration Service of Ramona’s life will be held from Sherwood’s Chapel at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, July 12, 2011. A private interment will follow in Cole’s Island Baptist Cemetery.
