Obituary of Hal Cripps

It is with deep sadness, the passing of Harold Edward Cripps, age 63, occurred on January 21, 2011, at his residence in Norton, NB. He was born January 21, 1948, the son of the late Murray and Catherine (Piers) Cripps. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Brenda (Wilson) Cripps, in October 2010 and his youngest brother Trevor Cripps. His is survived by his three daughters, Angela and Mark Wade of Norton, Stephanie Cripps and Chris McLaughlin of Belleisle, Cylvia and Adam Folkins of Collina; his dearly loved six grandchildren, Vincent and Samantha Wade, Brett Cripps-Caines, Caitlin, Trevor and Jonathan Folkins; brothers Roy, Richard and Annabelle of Berwick, David and Connie of Avonmore, Stephen and Debbie of Kingston; sisters Janet and Doug Rupert of Hampton and Judy and Brian Lavigne of Norton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Hal was an active member of his community, he owned and operated a general store, and was deputy mayor of Norton for nine years and a former volunteer firefighter. He leaves behind a legacy of generosity and love. He is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Saturday, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, from 1 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. A service of remembrance, conducted by Pastor Kevin Vincent and Hal’s family, will be held at 1:00 p.m. from his home church, Atlantic Community Church, Apohaqui, NB, on Monday, January 24, 2011. Interment will take place in Riverbank Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the Sussex Health Centre Foundation Mammogram Machine or the memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
