Obituary of Dave Cook

The death of David Earl Cook, age 55, husband of Cathy (Craft) McCrea Cook of Craft's Cove, NB, and formerly of Halifax, NS, occurred at Craft’s Cove, NB, on Thursday, September 16, 2010. He was born on September 12, 1955, at Toronto, ON, the son of the late Earl and Gernaine (Landry) Cook. Dave moved from Toronto, ON, to Nova Scotia, at a very young age. He ran a taxi service for many years in Nova Scotia, but decided after meeting Cathy, the love of his life, to move to New Brunswick in 2005 and had been employed with Seaboard Hasmac until his sudden death. In his spare time, he enjoyed driving his Harley or Four Wheeler with Cathy. He also liked beautifying his surroundings, planting shrubs, flowers, etc. He dearly loved to play his guitar and sing. His greatest love was his family. He enjoyed his grandchildren, especially his youngest little girl, Makenzie Nason. He dearly loved taking her on outings and to country fairs. He will be greatly missed by all, but especially little Makenzie. Dave is survived by his wife, two daughters Jennifer Cook and Heather Skirten both of Ontario; three grandchildren Brooklyn, Naiyah and Emily; three sisters Darlene and Danny Kaizer, Christine and Wade Oakley, Cindy Harnish; one brother Randy and Dawn Cook; three step-children Laurie McCrea of Oakville, ON, Graham McCrea of Bonneyville, AB and David McCrea of Shannon; step granddaughters Shyanne McCrea Tracy and Makenzie McCrea Nason; father in-law Alvin and mother-in-law Phyllis Craft of Craft’s Cove; brother-in-law Brad and sister-in-law Nancy Craft of Salt Springs; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
