The death of James Leonard VanWart, age 85, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB, on Sunday, August 29, 2010. He was born on August 17, 1925, in Hampstead, NB, the only son of the late L. Nase and Julia (Gunter) VanWart. Leonard is survived by several cousins and close friends. He was a life long resident of the community. He worked as a carpenter, painter, electrician, plumber, boatman, caretaker and salesman. He is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service, with Rev. Bob Johnson officiating, will be held from Central Hampstead Baptist Church, NB, at 11am. on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, interment will follow at Central Hampstead Cemetery.
