Obituary of Willard Grear

The death of Willard Fenton Grear, age 92, of Quispamsis, NB, and formerly of Hampton, NB, husband of Bernice (Doherty) Grear, occurred at the Kiwanis Nursing Home, on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. He was born on July 6, 1917 in Parker’s Ridge, NB, the son of the late Archibald and Eliza (Stewart) Grear. Willard worked for the CNR for more than 35 years, most of that time was in a train station as a station Agent in Blackville, Norton and later in Hampton, NB. He was an amazing man who always looked for the good in people. He always spoke fondly of his special cousins Berth Collins, Perry and Murray Minor. Willard loved his family and a good book. The family would like thank the staff of 3B South and the Kiwanis Nursing Home for the special care he received. Willard is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bernice (Doherty) Grear of Quispamsis, NB; son Blaine and Kim Grear of Quispamsis, NB; daughter Heather and David Forgrave of Hampton, NB; grandchildren Megan and Nicholas; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Harold and Arthur; sister Fern Peterson. The family will receive visitors at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, on Friday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. A celebration of Willard’s life will be held from Sherwood’s Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2010. Interment will follow in Riverbank Cemetery. Donations to Kiwanis Nursing Home or the memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
