Obituary of Louise Reicker

It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth "Louise" Reicker announces her passing which occurred on July 4, 2020 at the Rivercrest Care Centre, Fort Saskatchewan, AB. Born in McDonald’s Point, NB, on December 28, 1937, she was the only daughter of the late Arnold and Ruth (Coleman) McDonald. Louise is survived by her daughter Ruthy March (Ian) of Lamont, AB; son Kevin Reicker (Grace) of Bonnyville, AB; brothers: Alvin McDonald (Dorothy) of McDonald’s Point, NB and Malcolm McDonald (JoAnne) of McDonald’s Point, NB; her two very special granddaughters Aurora Reicker and Emma March; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Louise was predeceased by her husband Holly in 2017; and brothers: Jimmy, Blake and Donnie. Louise’s love of learning led to receiving four University degrees and a successful teaching career. Louise also loved to travel and did so frequently. One of her trips was a European Christian fellowship tour that she ended with a stop in England to marry Holly who was working there with the pipeline. Louise and Holly settled on the farm in Wickham, but she continued to travel with her children all over Canada to visit Holly wherever the job was. And eventually settled in Alberta to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a graveside service will be held at Wickham Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Louise may be made to the Parkinson’s Society of Canada, Arthritis Society NB or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
