With heavy hearts, the family of Ralph Edward Tays, husband of the late Holly (Dibblee) Tays, of Southfield, NB, announces his death which occurred on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the Sussex Health Centre. Born on May 23, 1934 in Bloomfield, NB, he was the son of the late William and Edna (Long) Tays. Ralph is survived by his sons: Larry Dibblee of Bloomfield, NB, David Dibblee of Saint John, NB, and Reggie (Monica) Tays of Southfield, NB; daughters: Noreen (Carl) Gallagher of Bullmoose Hill, NB, Dorothy (Tony) Barton of Minto, NB, Lori (Terry) Lamb of Hampton, NB, and June (Ron) Alyea of Norton, NB; brothers: Murray Tays, Jack (Carol) Tays, Clifford Tays, and Paul (Judy) Tays; sister Helen Rattray; grandchildren: Kathy, Mark, Billy, Juanita, Laura, Mary-Francis, Lindsay, Cassandra and Shannon; great grandchildren; special friends: Ralph Mercer and Carl Gallagher; and well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Ralph was predeceased by his loving wife Holly in 2010, brother Stewart Tays, and sister June Hutchings. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home & Life Tribute Centre (839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, where visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11:00 am from Sherwood’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Southfield Cemetery, Southfield, NB.
