Obituary of Connie Kendall

On December 10th, 2018 we lost our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Constance Grace Kendall (Hubbard) of Sussex NB, after a brief illness in the Sussex Health Centre. She was born in Bonny River, NB February 8th 1929, the daughter of the late DeLang and Catherine Hubbard (Fraser). She was the wife of the late Charles Gordon Kendall. At the age of 10 Connie lost her mother. Connie and her 6 brothers and sisters went to the Orphanage in Saint John NB, until the age of 15, when she returned home to work as a housekeeper, and later was employed at Sims Brush Factory where she met her husband Charlie. They later moved to their home on the Parleeville Road in Norton NB for over 50 years. Here is where they had a small farm and raised their family. Connie was an amazing cook and could create a meal out of anything, for anybody at anytime! She worked in many restaurants in and around Sussex for many years, until her retirement. She was a lay reader in her church, as well as a past president of the Norton Seniors Group, a member of the Red Hatters, and a member of the Waterford Seniors. Connies greatest joy and number one priority was her family. You didnt necessarily have to be blood related to be considered family. She will be missed by her seven children Gordon & Tina Kendall of Cold Lake AB, Sylvia & Claude Sprague of Largo Florida, Cathy & Bob Parlee of McGregor Brook, James & Colleen of Mink Lake Ontario, Dawn & Geoff Main of Sussex, Dianne & Kevin Kendall of Wilmot Nova Scotia, and Mike Kendall of Sussex. Her grandchildren Tanya (Joe) Foster/Kendall, Andrew Kendall, Shelley Coleman, Travis (Tanya) Hawkes, Tina (Randy) Teakles, Jeremy (Tracy) Parlee, Steve (Jennifer) Parlee, Cynthia (Luke) McKenzie, Melissa (Del) Roberts, Jessica (Larry) Main, Megan (Mike) Main, Alex (Kasper) Main, Amanda (Terry) Kendall, Katherine Kendall, Harrison Holmes, Elizabeth Holmes, Jenelle Jackson. Special granddaughters Ashely and Erin Woods. Great grandchildren Damien, Desiree, Dustin, Kayla, Dakota, Logan, Nick, Brianna, Kyle, Samantha, Mikayla, Shianna, Tyler, Claire, Paige, Grace, Cole, Dylan, Emmett, Xavier, Jayden, Felicity, Hudson, Jaxon, Ethan, Bryson, Gabriella, Isabella, Cooper, Benson, Mason, Aurora. Great Great Grandchildren Clair and Alec. Sister Gladys Boles , Brother John (Joan) Hubbard, half sisters Donna, Cecilia Hubbard, half brother Joe Hubbard as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Charlie, Granddaughter Katrina, sisters Jean, Betty, Kay, Irene, half sisters Linda & Gloria, brother Bud and special friend Ora Buchanan. She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (839-2156), Norton, NB with visitation on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service will held from Sherwood’s Chapel at 11:00 am on Friday, December 14, 2018. Interment will take place in Riverbank Cemetery in the spring.
