Obituary of Cecil Ferris
It is with sadness the family of Cecil Clarence Ferris, age 87, husband of Iris (Jeffery) Ferris announce his passing, which occurred at his residence in Bagdad on August 30, 2017. He was born on August 1, 1930 in Mill Cove, NB, the son of the late Clarence and Helen (McGarity) Ferris.
Cecil served in the Canadian Army and Air Force, worked as a lumberman, had his own trucking business and worked for 17 years at Lakeside Provincial Park until his retirement. He loved the outdoors, hunting, boating, watching and feeding the deer, telling stories and spending time with his two special grandsons Evan and Brody.
Cecil is survived by his wife of 59 years, Iris; daughter Meagan and Lloyd Belyea of Bagdad; sisters Glenna McIntyre of Manitoulin Island and Marilyn Foster of Sussex and chosen sisters Reta Brown of Edmonton, AB and Mary Breedon of ON; and very special grandsons Evan and Brody Belyea; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his step-mother Lizzie Ferris; brother Floyd Ferris; sisters Ella MacNeil and Gwen Goddard.
The family would like to acknowledge the dedication and caring of the staff at Home Care Plus, who went above and beyond to make his last years more comfortable.
Visitation at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, on Sunday, September 3, 2017, from 3 to 5 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held from Sherwood’s Chapel on Monday, September 4, 2017 at 11:00 am. A private family interment will take place following the service in All Saints Church Cemetery, Bagdad, NB.
