It is with sadness that the family of George Weldon Belyea, husband of Doreen (Carpenter) Belyea, announce his death which occurred at the Great Oaks Special Care Home, McDonald’s Point, NB on July 14, 2016. He was born on February 6, 1922 in Wickham, NB, the son of the late Gilbert and Zillah (McAlpine) Belyea George is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Doreen; daughter Marlene and Bryce Lawson; grandson Elliot; sister-in-law Muriel Belyea; several nephews, nieces and cousins. George was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his brothers Ronald, Ernest, Ervine and Laurence; sisters Ida Belyea, Ella DeWitt, Verna Mersereau and Muriel Davis. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, where visitation will be held from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm on Monday, July 18, 2016. A private interment will take place later in Wickham Cemetery Donations in memory of George may be made to the Wickham Cemetery or the memorial of the donor’s choice.
