Obituary of Norman Dykeman
It is with sadness that the family of Arthur Norman Dykeman, husband of Davidina (McLaughlan) Dykeman, announce his passing which occurred at his home in Jemseg, NB, on July 8, 2016. He was born on May 18, 1924 in Jemseg, NB, a son of the late Grover and Maude (Currie) Dykeman.
Norman is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Davidina "Dina" Dykeman; children: David (Susan) Dykeman of Jemseg, NB, Sharon (Brian) Kennedy of Cambridge-Narrows, NB, Ronald (Sarah) Dykeman of Mill Cove, NB, James (Anna) Dykeman of Bognor, ON, Lawrence (Krista Muir) Dykeman of Fredericton, NB, Leslie (Anne Bull) Dykeman of Fredericton, NB, Paul (Paula) Dykeman of Fredericton, NB, and Nancy Bennett of Hampton, NB; seventeen grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Norman was predeceased by his sons, Gary and Philip Dykeman; daughter-in-law Julie MacDonald-Dykeman; brother Douglas Dykeman; and sister Melba Dykeman.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, where visitation will be held from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm on Sunday. The funeral service will be held from Jemseg Baptist Church at 2:00pm on Monday, July 11, 2016. Interment will be held at the Jemseg Community Cemetery.
