Obituary of Gerry Gagne
It is with sadness that we announce the death of Maurice "Gerry" Gerald Gagne which occurred on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 6, 1949, a son of Dorothy (Downey) and the late Maurice Gagne.
Gerry leaves behind his beloved partner Wendy Martin of Springfield, NB; daughter Nadine (Brad Underwood) of Oromocto, NB; granddaughter Abbygail; as well as several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Gerry spent his life serving our country with the Canadian Military. During his time of service he spent time abroad and was a dedicated soldier.
He was a dignified gentlemen and was able to stay in the comfort of his home, with the care of his partner, while remaining strong throughout his journey with cancer.
Although a quiet soul, a great smile could be found on his face as the weather improved and it was time to get out for a drive in his "red-headed girlfriend"; a flashy red sports car he had bought in Germany as a young man. He spent more than forty years researching, tinkering, and perfecting it. Gerry was rarely seen anywhere on a Sunday as he was also passionate about Nascar and would rarely miss a race.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB. A private celebration of Gerry’s life will take place at a later time.
Donations in memory of Gerry may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the memorial of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through SherwoodsFuneralHome.com
