It is with great sadness the family of Leona Catherine Irene Allen, age 82, wife of the late Lawrence Herbert Allen, of Sussex, formerly of Belleisle Creek, NB, announces her death which occurred at the Kiwanis Nursing Home on April 15, 2016. Born in Norton, NB, on March 31, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Lena (Stackhouse) Armstrong. Leona is survived by her sons Richard (Joan) Allen of Baxter’s Corner and Douglas (June) Allen of Belleisle Creek; daughter Theresa (Roger) Eagles of Belleisle Creek; grandchildren: Michelle, Richard Jr, Christopher and Justice Allen, Jennifer MacKay and Nichole and Leslie Eagles; many great grandchildren; brothers Leroy and Glendon (Eleanor) Armstrong; sisters: Winnifred (Lee) Alcorn, Bernice Pearson and Beryl Howe; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her loving husband and parents, Leona was predeceased by her son Randy Allen; sister Yvonne Muir; infant sister Faye Armstrong; and infant brother Russell. She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre, (839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, with visiting on Monday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 2:00pm from Sherwood's Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
