It is with sadness that the family of Michael George McConnachie, husband of Frances Eileen (Day) McConnachie, announce his passing which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on March 21, 2016. He was born on June 22, 1954 in Fredericton, NB, a son of George and Anna Pauline (Cromwell) McConnachie. He is survived by his loving wife Frances McConnachie; children: Amanda McConnachie (Jonathon) of Fredericton, NB, Alex McConnachie (Tara) of Halifax, NS, Kate Thorne (Ryan) of Fairfield, NB, and Michael Thorne (Katrina) of Kiersteadville, NB; Grandchildren: Zachery, Creston, Gavin, Jaden, Noah, Kaiden and Nathaniel; and sister Coleen Alanthwaite of Vancouver, BC. Michael was predeceased by his sister Cherie Lynn McConnachie and his best friend Jack. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, where visitation will be held on Friday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8pm. The funeral service will be held from Sherwood’s Chapel at 11:00am on Saturday, March 26, 2016. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Michael may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation or to the memorial of the donor’s choice.
