A proud veteran, devoted family man, and strong pillar of the community. He served for 27 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, making lifelong friends wherever life took him. He was a longtime and active member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #20, serving as President for several years. He dedicated his time as a community volunteer, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer advice even if it was unsolicited.
A hardworking man who enjoyed his hobby farm, he was still haying and turning wrenches on his ’69 GMC truck well into his 80s. He knew a little bit about everything and was always ready to lend a helping hand. The fridge was always stocked with cold beer for anyone who stopped by, and he was always down for a good time, a good laugh, and a little harmless flirting.
He shared 56 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Diane, until her passing in 2018, and later found special companionship with Anne. He leaves behind family and friends who were fortunate to know his generosity, humour, and stories. He touched countless lives with his warmth and made many lifelong friendships. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
