Obituary of Richard Hodgin

It is with heavy hearts, the family announce the passing of Richard William Hodgin, which occurred on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at his residence in Kingston, NB. He was born February 18, 1958 in Sussex, NB, a son of the late Leonard and Mary (Ross) Hodgin.

Richard was a great brother, uncle and friend. He had a smile that could light up the sky. When he was young, he loved to dance. Richard loved to have a cup of tea and share the local “news”

Richard enjoyed showing off his Christmas ornaments and his chicken collection. His love of the church and his faith showed with all his crosses and church books, and he could tell you where and when he got each one.

He especially loved to go for a drive and shop at the dollar store maybe get a treat at Tim’s or KFC. Richard loved his family and friends he never forgot a birthday or anniversary and often made hand written cards.

Richard’s family would like to offer their appreciation and gratitude to Robert and family the residents and staff of Brockbank for all love and care they gave Richard.

Richard is survived by brothers: Danny (Kathy) Hodgin of Norton, NB, Kevin (Susan) Hodgin of Erb Settlement, NB; sister Joanne Hodgin of Norton, NB; nephews: Justin Clark, Keegan Hodgin; niece Rebecca Coneen and several cousins. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister Dianne.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home (506-839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, from where visitation will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026 from 5 to 7PM.  Mass of Christian burial will be held from Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 11:00AM, followed by burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
