Obituary of Jackson Sherwood

On March 17, 2026, our much-loved Jackson, was taken from us far too soon. There aren’t words big enough to measure how much we all loved Jackson and how much he will be deeply missed. Jackson is held close in the hearts of his family, his parents Mike and Ginny Sherwood, the love of his life Alex, his close-knit siblings Jillian, Ryan (Shawna), Megan (Austin), Logan (Sophia), and Gabe. Loving grandparents Bill Sherwood, and Ivan and Marj Neill. Special Aunts and Uncles Vance and Denise, Mike and Jody, Naomi and Brent, Jim and Shannon, and Bruce and Tanya. His treasured cousins: Sarah (Ben), Connor (Kelsee), Sean, Peyton, Sami, Jayme, Cohan, Owen (Jess), Hayden (Brooklynn), Emma (Cooper), Cora, Jordan, Bailey, Maya (John-Michael), and Abby (Kyle). Also, his sweet little nephew Cade. He was predeceased by his Gramma (Ruth Sherwood), Uncle Wayne and Uncle Jeff.

Jackson Grant Sherwood was born in Saint John, NB on April 22, 2006. The boy who made Gin a mom and the oldest of Mike’s “second batch”, and it wasn’t long for Jackson to gain “big brother” status to Logan and Gabe. At only two months old he took his first trip in a big truck, taking a load of pigs to Nova Scotia with his Mom and Dad. From that day forward we knew he would end up behind the wheel himself. His life was filled with summers at the bay on his several boats, dirt biking, snowmobiling; getting stuck in any mud hole he could find, and always looking for a good deal on Marketplace. He always had a project on the go. Everywhere he went he made new friends. Many cherished friendships were made over Jackson’s broken-down toys. Jackson had many friends from age 3 to 93. His personality could not be replicated. He had a contagious smile and a laugh that would fill the room. “Torment” was his middle name.

Jackson started school at BES, moving across the road and graduating from BRHS in 2024. Jackson’s strong work ethic began at a young age where he started his first jobs at Valley View Sales and Sharp’s dairy barn. He juggled two jobs, played hockey, went to school and he still somehow had time for a good Marketplace deal. After graduation Jackson went on to get his class 1 license. He began working for Uncle Vance at Sarcon, where they gave him the keys to his first truck, which quickly became known as “Jack’s Truck”. He gained his “Snow Fighter” status this winter when he began work for the DOT, plowing the roads. Jackson was always a happy kid, but no one had seen him happier than this last year when he could be behind the wheel no matter what the weather. You always knew it was Jackson coming down the road - his Jake brake switch never came off high. Only Jackson could wave, steer, shift and hang off the airhorn at the same time, no matter what time of the day. If Jackson was awake, he thought everyone should be awake. Daily, his family would receive messages of where they had spotted Jackson because of his big “Burt Reynolds” moustache smile. Jackson had many vehicles, but his pride and joy was his 1980 Bullnose Ford.

Jackson didn't only love his Ford. Gramp enjoyed teasing Jackson about the “tall blonde” he was starting to bring around. On February 23, 2022, it became official and Jackson began courting the love of his life Alex. From then on, they were inseparable and she instantly became family. Alex was the only person that could convince Jackson to take part in a pottery class, while his friends were out doing "guy things". Jackson had the biggest heart and was relentless when he wanted you to do something with him.

Our world is incomplete without Jackson in it, but we are so grateful for the love and memories he gave us. He will be missed beyond measure and loved always.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), Norton, NB where the visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 6 to 9PM and Sunday, March 22, 2026 from 2 to 9PM.
