Obituary of Elizabeth (Betty) Ducey

Elizabeth Louise Ducey, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend went peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour on January 1st 2026, surrounded by family at her home. She was cherished and will be greatly missed by her family; she will always be fondly remembered for her kindness and devotion. Betty was born in Hatfield Point, NB on September 11, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Regina (Boyd) Morrell.

 

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Leslie Ducey; her daughters: Angela Thom (Robert) of Browns Flat, Debora Isbill (Cory) of Wickham, and Pamela Milburn (Darren) of Springfield; her much loved grandchildren: Cassandra Lagacé-Stewart (Clinton), Alex Thom (Amy), Christian Demmings (Colleen), Keaton Demmings (Ariel), Chandler Keeler (Wesley), Claire Isbill (Bailey), Quincey Isbill, Maxson Isbill, Jessica Laskey (Michael), Megan Ducey (Sean), Carter Ducey, Jillian Milburn (Jake), Liam Milburn (Cassidy) and Natalie Milburn (Chris); 11 great-grandchildren; her brother Fraser Morrell (Cathy); her sisters: Lois Matheson, and Linda Haines (Ken); special sister by marriage, Patricia Freeman; brother-in-law Jarvis Ducey (Deanna), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

 

Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her son Darren; brothers: Phillip and Lee; sister Josephine Scribner; brothers-in-law: Lorne Matheson, and Allan Ducey.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood's Funeral Home and Life Tribute Center (506-839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton. Visitation will be held Monday, January 5th, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00pm. The funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, January 6 at 11:00am at Central Wickham Baptist Church (1929 Route 705, Wickham, NB). In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Betty may be made to the Sussex Extra Mural or Central Wickham Baptist Church.
