Obituary of Allyn Bell
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Allyn Vaughan Bell which occurred with family by his side on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at the Sussex Health Centre in Sussex, NB. Born in Sussex, NB, on January 14,1937, he was the son of the late Herbert and Hazel (Spencer) Bell.
Allyn was born and raised is Sussex Corner. He graduated from Sussex High to go on to forestry school only to discover that it wasn’t for him. He found grocery store clerk is what made him happy. Seeing all his neighbors and friends each week brought him so much joy. Allyn would stop and talk whether he knew you or not. He was always there with a helping hand and was such a gentleman in so many ways.
Allyn loved dances and maybe a little drink with his buddies. This is where he met Sylvia, the love of his life! They married in February of 1960 and were inseparable from then onward. If you seen Sylvia, you knew Allyn wasn’t far behind. They completed their family with children Terry and Tony, whom he loved unconditionally. They moved to Belleisle in 1975 and settled with their family. They would trailer for many years, always looking to get away and spend time together. Allyn also loved golfing and spending time with friends.
Allyn is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Sylvia (Desruisseau) Bell of Belleisle Creek, NB; daughter Terry Parlee (Rick) of Belleisle Creek; son Tony Bell (Cindy) of Sussex, NB; grandchildren: Jacob Parlee (Kelsey), Cody Parlee (Lauren), Jocke Bell (Heather), Jasmine Bell (Kris); great-grandchildren: Levi, Hayes and Leo Parlee, Bryer and Scotland Bell, and Graeme and Lyla Leask; brothers-in-law: Roland, Cory, Doug (Nancy), Rick (Bev) and Jack (Diana); as well as many nieces and nephews. He also had a special bond with his work girls (as he called them). Besides his parents, Allyn was predeceased by his sister Marion Anderson; brother Jack Bell; brother-in-law Willis Anderson; and sisters-in-law: Pat Desruisseau, Verna Desruisseau, and Joyce Bell.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), Norton, NB. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norton, NB. The interment will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
