Obituary of Wayne Vail
The family of Wayne Garnet Vail sadly announce his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Wayne was born in Boston, MA on May 26, 1949, the son of the late Clifford and Florence (Waddell) Vail.
Wayne, Dad, Pa-Daddy, and Grampie, however he was referred to, he would answer. He loved all his pastimes which included working in the woods, driving his 4-wheeler with his best pal Abby, and a good horror movie. He also liked to reminisce and talk about his mining days.
Dad enjoyed a good argument; his favourite part was the fact he started it and then would sit back and watch everyone get involved. Grampie was proud of all his grandchildren and loved to hear about all their accomplishments. The love of his life was Bettianne, whom he missed every day. He will be missed by many and cherished by family. A true legend……
Wayne will be missed by his children: Jennifer and her husband Adam McDonald of McDonald’s Point, Jeanette and her husband Nathan McDonald of McDonald’s Point, Travis Vail and his wife Tracey of Lower Coverdale, NB; his grandchildren: Madison (Ryan), Avery (Shannon), Rause-Lynn, Kora (Drew), Scarlette McDonald and Arlo Vail; his sister Roxie Reicker (Russ) of Hampton, NB and brother Jimmy Sparks (Michelle) of ON; nieces and nephews and many cousins. Dad will be especially missed by his furry sidekick Abby.
The family would like to thank the many neighbors for all the support and kindness shown to our dad. Also, we want to thank the wonderful nurses at the Sussex Dialysis Unit for all the help and support. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Center (506-839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB. There will be a private burial at Union Cemetery. The family invites you to join them for a Celebration of Wayne’s Life on April 26, 2025, from 1-4 pm at the Belleisle Creek Hall (1338 Route 870, Belleisle Creek, NB).
