It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Jean Extell, age 66 on Friday, March 13, 2026 after a difficult battle with cerebellar ataxia in which she had been bedridden for the past seven years at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Sussex, NB on April 28, 1959 to Don and Fern Armstrong in Norton, NB and immediately brought joy and laughter into the world.
When she met her husband Allen the two of them were inseparable from that point on. Nancy and Allen were married for over 46 years and had two children, Angela and Josh.
Nancy loved nothing better than a good book to read and she loved spending time with her family. She always had a smile on her face no matter what was going on around her which always made the people around her happy too.
Nancy is survived by her husband Allen Extell of Quispamsis, NB, her daughter, Angela Extell of Saint John, NB, her son, Josh Extell of Baxter's Corner and her sister, Judy Bastarache (Sherman) of Abbotsford, BC as well as all her nieces, nephews and cousins.
Nancy was predeceased by her mother Fern Armstrong, father, Don Armstrong, brother, Bob Armstrong and sister, Bev Armstrong.
Nancy's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the Integrity caretaker's who took such good care of Nancy over the years as well as all the people at Extra Mural Program who made sure that Nancy had everything she needed. Thanks also to Dr. Natalie Graves and her staff.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. In lieu of flowers, please consider leaving a donation to Bobby's Hospice or the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
