Enid Marion (Scott) MacDonald passed away, May 9, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at the Kiwanis Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Ronald MacDonald of O"Neill Road, NB. Enid was born on October 15, 1931 in Cambridge, NB. She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Merle (Hosford) Scott. Mom moved to Hampton in 1932 and always felt very blessed to have been raised there. She always said the people of Hampton helped to raise her. She was involved in all church, school, and community activities, as a child and continuing through her adult life. Mom worked hard all her life working on her fathers’ farm as a girl. She later, after graduation, taught school, worked at a drug store and jewellery store, and worked a number of years at the Bank of Nova Scotia, both in Saint John and Sussex. Mom married the love of her life, Ronald, on June 25, 1955 and raised their family of three on the homestead on the O’Neill Road. Mom and Dad both worked hard to make their farm successful and loved to see the progress made over the years. Mom soon learned that becoming a farmer’s wife you soon become a jack of all trades. Mom worked outside helping with chores, haying, and was the farm book keeper. Mom was a beautiful cook and hostess. Being on the family homestead, there were always visitors around. Mom enjoyed them all and always made sure she kept an extra potato in the pot "just in case". You always knew if the MacDonald Clan was around, there would be music and fun for all. Mom also enjoyed gardening, reading, keeping her daily diary up to date, a good shopping trip, and a good Sunday drive with Ron (and maybe a picnic lunch). Mom’s greatest love was her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was so proud of all of them and loved hearing their news and visiting with them. Mom was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease in 2004 and along with shoulder injuries life began to change for her. She continued to remain independent and involved in things for as long as she could. After she moved to the Kiwanis Nursing Home, she became an active part of her new home being involved in all the things she could there. She loved being president of the resident council for many years and sure knew how to run a proper meeting. The residents and staff became like a second family to her. We will be forever grateful to the staff there for making it home for our Mom. Mom will be deeply missed, but we also take comfort in knowing her challenges and pain have ceased. She has joined Dad and her Heavenly Father in heaven. God has opened His arms and welcomed her home saying, "Well done my good and faithful servant". Love you Mom Enid is survived by her two sons; Malcolm and Elaine, and Gerald and Margaret, daughter; Elaine and Danny Folkins, all of Searsville, four grandsons; David (Jaimee), Michael (Beth), and Christopher (Carrie) Folkins, and Scott (Terri-Lynn) MacDonald, three granddaughters; Andrea MacDonald (Brandon), Jena-Rae Lackie, and Amy Sears, great-grandchildren; Kaden, Jaxon, Walker, Harper, Dominic, Elliott, Hudson, Ava, Landyn, and Maxim, sisters-in-law; Ruby (David) Morrison, Gertrude MacDonald, and Carol Scott, brother-in-law; George MacDonald, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Enid was predeceased by her loving husband Ronald MacDonald, brother Melrose Scott, brothers-in-law; Roy (Bea) MacDonald, and Ken MacDonald, sisters-in-law; Flora (Roy) Armstrong, Verna (Lloyd) Patterson, Leona MacDonald, Alice (Harry) Chambers and Phyllis Scott.
