Dear Carolyn and family,
We were shocked and saddened to hear of Johnny’s passing. Although it has been many years since we last saw him, we have fond memories of Johnny and his brother Brian playing with our boys when we lived at the Point. Looking back we can see the humour in some of the shenanigans those boys could get into. Donna Howland and I still laugh about when he was in our Sunday School class. I can’t remember just what the lesson was about (possibly about things that were bad for you). Somehow smoking came up and Johnny said he was never going to smoke. Several months later we were at Fun Days and Donna saw Johnny smoking a cigarette and she said “Johnny, you said you were never going to smoke”. Without batting an eye, he looked up at her and said, “I lied”. We will always remember Johnny with fondness. Our condolences are with you at this sad time.
